Hi, I’m Amy Spear

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Welcome to a Compassionate Space for Your Healing Journey

I know how overwhelming it can feel when life’s challenges stack up—whether it’s anxiety, burnout, a past trauma you can’t seem to shake, or simply wondering what’s next. You don’t have to face it alone. I provide a warm, non-judgmental space, both in West Ashley / Charleston and online, where we’ll partner together to find clarity, build resilience, and move toward the life you want.

A Little About My Training

I earned my M.S. in Clinical Counseling & Applied Psychology from the University of South Carolina Aiken and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #6570) in South Carolina back in 2010. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, and led grief-support programs—always with the same goal: to help people feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Evidence-Based Tools, Tailored to You

I believe every person’s story is unique, so I draw from a range of proven approaches:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to shift unhelpful thought patterns

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) for deep trauma and PTSD work

  • Mindfulness & Motivational Interviewing to build awareness and spark your own motivation

  • Strengths-Based Coaching to leverage what you already do well

Together, we’ll co-create a plan that fits your personality, goals, and daily life—so you leave each session with real strategies you can use immediately.

My Practice & Focus

I primarily work with young and mid-life adults, offering individual counseling either in-person or via secure telehealth support for:

  • Anxiety & Stress Management

  • Depression & Low Mood

  • Trauma & PTSD Recovery

  • ADHD Support Across the Lifespan

  • Life Transitions & Grief

Whether you’re curious about therapy or you’ve tried it before and need a better fit, I’ll guide you every step of
the way.

All are welcome.

Payment & Insurance

Currently, I do not accept any insurance, but I offer a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for session reimbursement.

Individual Therapy sessions typically cost $110. A sliding scale payment can be applied upon reasonable request.

Group Therapy and Guided Support sessions' cost will be determined based on the number of participants in each group and will be disclosed prior to the first session.
